Guidelines for the Journal

Description

Kashmir Policy Research Institute (Policy Research Forum) is the premier think tank of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (Pakistan). This think tank is publishing International Journal of Kashmir Studies (IJKS). This Journal  fills an important need in the context of Kashmir conflict, history, art, literature and socio economic issues. Research published by the Journal encompasses (but is not limited to) topics such as; Peace & Conflict Studies, History , International Affairs, Geopolitics, Diplomacy, Security, Defense and Strategic Studies, Economy, Governance, Law, Self-determination and other solidarity rights

Limit and Scope of Issues

The journal will publish within a single issue; a minimum 4 articles (manuscripts) 12 maximum and book review or essay subject to availability but not more than 2 in any case. Minimum publications per annum shall be 2 issues however special issues would also be published occasionally for special purposes like conferences or other similar research activates. The archive of publications shall be maintained online on the web for open public access of all published issues except the latest one for complete articles for a reasonable time but not exceeding six month to generate funds for the journal.

Editorial and Peer Review Process

All submissions are screened using Turnitin – similarity detection software. The Journal of Kashmir Studies follows a strict zero-tolerance policy for plagiarism. Articles shortlisted by the Editorial Board undergo  double-blind peer reviews . During this stage, articles may not be approved for publication by the referees. However, if they are found suitable for the Journal, reviewers may recommend either major or minor changes in the manuscript. The revision process might comprise multiple rounds. Peer review timelines vary depending on reviewer availability and responsiveness.
